Hey friends! We are officially in week 3 of Easter recipes, and this week is all about the SIDES, and let me tell you, these are the kind of dishes that make the whole plate. I’m sharing scalloped potatoes, broccoli casserole, carrot salad, funeral potatoes, and a simple vegetable side that pulls everything together without adding any stress to your day. Life over here has been just as full as this menu because we are officially moved into the new house! We spent our very first night there on Sunday, March 29th, and it already feels like home, even with boxes everywhere and a to-do list a mile long. Next week I’m going to take a little break from recipe content to catch my breath—but don’t worry, I’ll still be sharing! In place of recipes, I’ll be posting videos of decorating and getting different areas of the house set up. I don’t usually film my children’s rooms because I believe that’s their private space, but they’ve actually asked if I would this time because they are so excited to show them off. I gave them full creative control over how they wanted to decorate, and it has been so special watching their personalities come to life in their own spaces. It’s been one of my favorite parts of this whole move. We’ve been working through getting all of our animals settled too, and I wanted to clarify since I talk about them like y’all already know them personally, these are our babies 😊
Our inside cats Gumbo, Bagel, Felix, and Rosie are all moved in and adjusting really well so far. The dogs, Sissy and Lilly, are settling in too. Sissy is our black lab (aka mama), and in true Sissy fashion… she has already christened the new place by taking a full dive into the bayou 🤦♀️ so we are off to a real strong start over here. Today we’re moving our outside cats, Waffles (our back porch mama cat) and Dark Chocolate (front porch KWEEN). I picked up GPS trackers for them so I can keep a close eye on them while they learn their new surroundings, because if you know me, you know I’ll be worrying until I know they’re safe and settled. And let me just be honest with y’all for a second… we have been living off DoorDash for the last week 😅 Between packing, moving, and trying to get everyone settled, cooking has just not been happening. I don’t even want to know how many bags and containers have come through this house, but I can tell you this, I am MORE than ready for a real, homemade meal in my own kitchen again. I’ve missed it. It’s been busy, a little chaotic, and very real life over here—but also really special. I’m so grateful to have y’all here for all of it.
