This week I’m kicking off a brand-new series I’m calling “Will it Develop?” 🎉 If you’ve ever wondered how a recipe goes from just a random thought in my head to something written down, tested, tweaked, and eventually put into a cookbook, you’re about to find out! Together we’ll be working through ideas for my new cookbook, and y’all will get to see the behind-the-scenes process that usually happens quietly in my kitchen (and in my brain). The way I come up with recipes is pretty simple—I’ll be cooking dinner, or even just walking through the grocery store, and an idea will hit me. Instead of letting it float away, I grab my phone and dump it straight into my notes app. Some of those ideas end up turning into family favorites we eat over and over again… and some of them, well, let’s just say they don’t make it past the “hmm, maybe not” stage 😂. This week, I’m letting y’all peek at those notes—the good, the bad, and the slightly confusing ones that make sense only to me in the moment. If you’ve ever wondered what my brain looks like on paper, you’re about to see it in full force. It’s messy, it’s funny, but it’s also where some of our very best recipes were born.
